Solar Controllers

A charge controller regulates the power coming in from your solar panels (or wind turbine) to safely charge your batteries. It prevents overcharging and can optimize the charging process. There are two main types: PWM and MPPT, with MPPT controllers being more efficient (they can pull more energy especially in non-ideal sun conditions). In a component system, the charge controller is essential for connecting renewable sources to the battery bank.
